Marisela’s Tamales to Close by Year-End

Beaumont Staple Marisela’s Tamales Set to Close After 8 Years

The owners of Marisela’s Tamales in Beaumont have announced that they will close their doors permanently on December 31, 2026. In a candid announcement, the owners cited the ongoing pressures of inflation, rising business taxes and fees, and the persistent challenges of staffing. After nearly eight years in business, the family has stated they are open to offers for the purchase of the business name, equipment, and their cherished recipes.

Located at 5760 Walden Road, Suite 216, the restaurant has been a vital part of the Beaumont food scene. It is situated just off I-10 in a busy commercial strip, located near the Ford Park Entertainment Complex and close to various hotel chains like the Holiday Inn Beaumont-Plaza. Its position made it a favorite stop for both locals and travelers passing through Southeast Texas.

Marisela’s was best known for its authentic, handmade tamales, including pork, chicken, and beef varieties. The menu also featured traditional Mexican plates and seasonal specials that earned them a loyal following. The owners hope that a potential buyer might step in to keep the brand alive before the year-end deadline.

I love old restaurants! There is something interesting about the history of a closed down restaurant and the amazing possibility of something new!
