Madison is saying goodbye to a true institution as Porta Bella, a historic Italian restaurant, officially closed its doors on February 20, 2026. Located at 425 N Frances St, this beloved spot had been serving the community since the 1960s, becoming a culinary landmark near the UW-Madison campus.
Porta Bella held an iconic position in the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus area, just a block from the Memorial Union and Lake Mendota.
