A beloved neighborhood Italian restaurant in Phoenix has announced it will soon close its doors for good. Giuseppe’s On 28th, a longtime favorite known for its authentic Italian cuisine and warm hospitality, will officially close on March 22, 2026 as owner Richard Bock retires after decades of serving the community.
Located at 2824 E. Indian School Rd Suite 10 in Phoenix, the restaurant has spent years building a loyal following among locals who returned time and again for comforting pasta dishes, classic Italian recipes, and a welcoming neighborhood atmosphere.
A Phoenix Institution for Italian Cuisine
Over the years, Giuseppe’s On 28th became far more than just a restaurant. For many Phoenix residents, it was the setting for family dinners, anniversaries, celebrations, and special milestones.
Under Richard Bock’s leadership, the restaurant earned widespread recognition for both its food and hospitality. The eatery was featured twice on Food Network’s Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives with Guy Fieri — a nod to the restaurant’s standout dishes and enduring popularity.
In addition to national recognition, Giuseppe’s On 28th also received multiple local honors for its dining experience, including accolades from Phoenix New Times, Phoenix Magazine, and OpenTable.

A Menu That Kept Guests Coming Back
Guests visiting the restaurant could find a variety of Italian favorites on the menu, including dishes such as:
-

The restaurant developed a reputation for preparing dishes that felt both authentic and comforting — the kind of meals that kept regular customers returning year after year.
One recent diner described the restaurant as an “eclectic and interesting place” with food so good that they would gladly eat anything the chef prepared.
A Heartfelt Farewell From the Owner
In announcing the closure, Richard Bock shared an emotional message thanking the community that supported the restaurant over the years.
“This restaurant has been one of the greatest honors of my life. To be embraced by this community — and recognized on a national level — is something I will always treasure. I’m deeply grateful to our guests, our staff, and everyone who has walked through our doors.”
Bock’s retirement marks the end of a long chapter for the restaurant and for the Phoenix dining scene.
One Last Chance to Visit
