German Village Icon Skillet Closes After 20 Years in Columbus

Columbus’s historic German Village neighborhood is saying goodbye to a beloved culinary institution as Skillet has officially closed its doors. Located at 410 E Whittier St, the restaurant, which had been serving rustic breakfast and brunch since approximately 2006, ceased operations on February 15, 2026. Skillet was an icon, known for its focus on local ingredients and comforting, innovative dishes.

Skillet was perfectly nestled in the charming, historic streets of German Village, just a few blocks from Schiller Park. Its location made it a popular destination for locals and tourists exploring the brick-lined streets, unique shops, and other historic landmarks in the area. It was a community hub, deeply ingrained in the fabric of the neighborhood.
