Streetcar Construction Blamed for Sea Thai Closure in Omaha

Omaha’s Midtown Crossing district has lost a popular dining destination with the closure of Sea Thai. Located at 3157 Farnam St, the restaurant officially ceased operations on February 17, 2026. The owners directly attributed the closure to the disruptive impact of the ongoing streetcar construction in the area, which severely affected foot traffic and accessibility.

Sea Thai was a key part of the modern Midtown Crossing at Turner Park development, a vibrant mixed-use area. It was situated near popular attractions like the Joslyn Art Museum and directly across from the future streetcar line. The construction, while aiming to revitalize the area, ultimately proved too challenging for the restaurant’s operations.
