After 30 Years: Both Evansville Applebee’s Locations Close
A surprising double closure has hit Evansville, as both local Applebee’s locations have officially shut their doors after approximately 30 years in business. The restaurants at 4600 Morgan Ave and 5401 Pearl Dr ceased operations on February 19, 2026. This marks a significant exit for the casual dining giant from the city’s restaurant landscape.
The Morgan Avenue location was a fixture on the west side, situated near the bustling Westwood Shopping Center and close to USI (University of Southern Indiana). The Pearl Drive restaurant, on the other hand, served the east side of Evansville, anchoring a popular commercial strip near the Eastland Mall and major retailers. Both sites were community staples, known for their accessible dining and neighborhood bar atmosphere.
